Missouri Resistance

This podcast is about action, strategy, and building a real grassroots movement from the ground up. Every week, we expose what’s happening in our communities — and show you the concrete steps we can take to push back, protect each other, and build something better. We’re done accepting crumbs. We’re done with symbolic gestures. We’re ready to organize, resist, and rebuild. Grassroots born. People powered. Missouri strong.

We’re getting closer to publishing episode 1 of our podcast, here’s a trailer!

Aren’t you just mad as hell and pissed off about what’s going on these days?

You know, I’m not even talking about Donald Trump and the atrocities going on in Washington, D.C. or the fact that our governor in Missouri, Mike, I got a deal for you, Kehoe, doesn’t give a damn about the rights of Missourians.

No, I’m talking about the political pundits, the Democrats, socialists, liberals, left-wingers who are out there every day on their podcasts and social media accounts lamenting and crying about how terrible everything is in the world and not giving us a damn thing to do about it.

Oh, sure, they’ll talk about, hey, write a letter, make a phone call to these career politicians, or maybe you can write a letter to the editor, or how about attend a public forum?

And oh, march in protest, we’ve got to march in protest.

And you know something?

I’ve done all of these things.

I participated in No Kings.

I participated at my county courthouse when ICE was on the loose, and they still are.

I participated outside of detention centers illegally holding immigrants.

I’ve done all of this.

And I’ll continue to do it because it’s important to bring people together.

But you know, at the end of the day, folks, we’ve got to ask, is that enough?

We’ve got to take it up a notch.

So how do we do that?

Well, I looked back at our own history, came out with some pretty interesting things.

There’s this lady called Susan B. Anthony that fought for women’s rights.

There are the laborers who fought against those people who would attack unions.

There was Rosa Parks making sure that everybody could ride on the bus, and there’s Martin Luther King Jr. who gave his life for equality for all.

And so I was thinking to myself, well, what can we do today?

So I came up with a five-point project called SPEARS, S-P-E-A-R, with an additional S. The additional S kind of holds things together.

Now, we’ll talk about that acronym and what it stands for later on in our first podcast.

But right now, I’ll tell you that as we march and protest, we need to picket.

We need to picket these businesses that every day support Trump and the MAGA movement and take that money right out of their wallets.

And as for the advocacy, yeah, we’ll still help making sure that these immigrants are taken care of, making sure that women who go to Planned Parenthood can go in to get good health care without being shouted down by protesters telling them they’re going to hell every 10 minutes.

Those are things, ladies and gentlemen, we have to do, and that is why we are starting Missouri Resistance.

And take a look, I’m 71 years old, I walk around with a cane I named Bob, and I haven’t seen a cheeseburger that isn’t like.

And if I can do it, we can do it because we’re the only ones out there who can be on the front line to get this movement up and going, and our children will thank us for it.

We will give them a future where justice and freedom, compassion, and kindness are just a part of their everyday life and not this pie in the sky hope that we have right now.

We can do it, ladies and gentlemen, and we’re going to get started with that first podcast and hang on because it’s going to be a hell of a ride.
